Music, Hi-Fi, Review, and Thoughts

Are you tired of listening to music that has been commercialized, buying music or hi-fi equipments that when put together did not meet your musical preference, or frustrated that you don't seem to be able access to vast resource of music that is now out-of-print? If your answer to one of the above questions is yes, then this website is what you are looking for.

This blog was created with years of thoughts on a goal or dream to share music, hi-fi experience, and musical thoughts with friends and people around the world. I believe this is a stepping stone towards the goal.

In this website, you will find out interesting music from various genre that is not readily available from your local music store (chain store I should emphasized!); music or hi-fi equipments that other people put together and their past stories on hi-fi; and interesting blog on music sharing.

Music Sharing
(December 25th, 2006 Merry Christmas!)
I came across this LP a couple of weeks ago and bought it right away. As far as I know this recording has not been re-issued in CD format. In fact, to my limited knowledge, most recordings from Moers Music have not been re-issued in CD. This LP has been out-of-print for nearly 30 years.

Both James Newton and Anthony Davis are exceptional musicians. I do not want to bore you with their biography here, as it is readily available from the Internet. Side 2 of the LP is one song "Someone Inside Her" (20'15). It is a very good song composed in different idioms, neo-classical, free jazz, to name a few. JN's flute playing sometimes is forceful with expression and sometimes is delicate like a thin air. It is a pleasure piece of composition to listen to.

Walter Wanderley is one of my favourite Jazz organists all time. If the name is not familiar to you, that is ok. But I believe you must have heard one of Bossa Nova hits that he played before (I can almost guarantee!). Anyway, this album is one of his rarest recordings. My copy is an LP (it simply doesn't feel the same to listen to 60's Bossa Nova from a CD. Trust me =). You may find some of the music cheesy like evalator music. In fact, back in those days, these types of music were often used for such use. But you still find a few great gems from this recording. You may laugh when you see some tracks in this album with title like "Music to watch girls by", and "wait until dark" (to do what??).
